Students of Missoula to go to Peru

8 students from Missoula high school will go to Peru in June for a long volunteer work and immersion study. A nonprofit organization named Missoula that organizes and carry out these tours is conducting a fundraiser for their forthcoming tour.

“Taste of Peru” will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm, Thursday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 202 Brooks St. People will watch photographs of scenic Machu Picchu, Cusco as well as the Sacred Valley when tasting some of its traditional foods of the country along with a bid on silent auction items, few of those donated by the local businesses as well as some art work from Peru.

Tickets are already on sale from Friday for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Missoula’s Spring Gala fundraiser at the Hilton Garden Inn. Each proceeds from this event will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Missoula.

A Bonding Experience, which is this year's theme, will bring out the 'James Bond' that stays within us. The evening activities will start at 6:30 pm with cocktails as well as hors d’oeuvres and music by Starlighters Swing Band.
