Peru in run for World Travel Awards

Oscars of the travel industry i.e. World Travel Awards praised Peru’s food and tourism. The South American has been nominated in 5 categories for the World Travel Awards this year, stated the Andina news agency.

Peru will contest in the Leading Culinary Destination in South America category; capital Lima is also in the running for Leading Destination in South America; Callao was nominated as Leading Cruise Port in South America; and Machu Picchu is among the top favorites for Leading Green Destination in South America.

PromPeru, the Export and Tourism Promotion Board in Peru, was also nominated for Leading Tourism Board in South America 2013. The 1st edition of World Travel Awards Central and South American Gala event will take place Peru capital Lima on 20th July.

The event will happen at ancient Huaca Pucclana temple, which is located in Miraflores, in the middle of the city. The regional champs will compete one on one in a final round of voting to select who will be the WTA’s world awards winners. The winners are declared on the night of WTA Grand Final in December.

Melia Hotels International will take Tryp by Wyndham brand to the South American country Peru with the start of Tryp Lima Miraflores hotel Lima, the capital of Peru, in the year 2016. The hundred forty property would offer a fitness rooms, meetings rooms, a restaurant as well as views of the magnificent Pacific Ocean.
